What is this stuff that came out during sex?

I had sex and during there was like sticky pieces of like pink gooey stuff but very small pieces (it looked like skin on your lips when they're chapped and you put chap stick on afterwards). I was told it could either be from skin rubbing off your vagina or part of a mucus plug from pregnancy. Any suggestions of what it might've been will be very appreciated thanks.
